Daily Duties at Independent Landman:
Provided skills and expertise needed by Browning Oil Company, such as preparing and drafting all agreements needed from all Working Interest Owners (“WIO”), surface and/or mineral owners and any third party which was not a WIO in a prospect area so that Browning and its partners could drill a well (or multiple wells). I circulated those documents to the WIO’s and then monitored the progress of obtaining the execution of all agreements and advised Browning management when the process was completed to an acceptable level so that all field and drilling personnel could be released to obtain necessary state or federal permits, contract a drilling rig, conduct necessary surface operations (i.e. building a surface location for the well, drilling a water well if necessary, digging pits for water and drilling mud, building access roads and installing gates on fence lines that needed to be crossed, etc.). Prior to getting all documents executed, I was responsible for organizing, monitoring and supervising Field Landmen in the acquisition of oil and gas leases or obtaining third party agreements (i.e. surface use, easements, right-of-ways, Farmin agreements, etc.) in the area(s) designated by Browning as being prospective and which was authorized for expenditures. I authorized, approved and monitored, on a daily basis, all Broker efforts, costs/expenses and lease bonus payments, reported to management on a regular basis and provided future expense projections for budget management and control.
