Daily Duties at U.S. Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Command (Airborne). :
I was responsible for training TEAM MEMBERS IN CONDUCTING DAY TO DAY CIVIL-MILITARY OPERATIONS IN A CLASSROOM AND FIELD ENVIRONMENT. IN THE CLASSROOM, I TAUGHT TEAM MEMBERS THE SIX PRINCIPLES OF CIVIL AFFAIRS OPERATIONS WHICH ARE: MISSION, COMMAND RESPONSIBILTY, CONTINUITY & CONSISTENCE OF POLICY, SECURITY RESPONSIBILITY, ECONOMY OF PERSONNEL & RESOURCES AND HUMANITARIAN CONSIDERATIONS. IN THE FIELD ENVIRONMENT, TEAM MEMBERS WERE TAUGHT HOW TO IMPLEMENT THOSE PRINCIPLES. AT THE END OF TRAINING, THE TEAM MEMBERS WHERE PUT THRU A 10 DAY, 24 HOUR, SIMULATED COMBAT ENVIRONMENT EXERCISE THAT TESTED WHAT THEY HAD LEARNED. I CONDUCTED ON-GOING professional development THAT FOCUSED ON THE 6 CIVIL-MILITARY OPERATIONS ACTIVITIES AND THE CIVIL AFFAIRS LINES OF OPERATION. A TEAM MEMBER MUST HAVE A GOOD WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF THESES ACTIVITES AND AREAS AS THE TEAM WILL CONDUCT ANY AND ALL OF THESE AT SOME POINT DURING A CAMPAIGN. THE 6 CIVIL-MILITARY OPERATIONS ACTIVITIES ARE, SUPPORT TO CIVIL ADMINISTRATION, DOMESTIC & INTERNATIONAL CONSIDERATIONS, POPULACE & RESOURCES CONTROL, FOREIGN HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE, NATION ASSISTANCE AND MILITARY CIVIC ACTION. THE CIVIL AFFAIRS LINES OF OPERATION ARE: RULE OF LAW, GOVERNANCE, PUBLIC HEALTH & WELFARE AND INFRASTRUCTURE. I CONDUCTED THE tactical TRAINING AND employment AS WELL. THE TEAM WAS TRAINED ON HOW TO USE SMALL UNIT TASKS & ACTIVITIES TO ACOMPLISH DAILY MISSIONS. THESE TASKS & ACTIVITIES ARE: PRESENCE & COMBAT PATROLLING, OBSERVING AND REPORTING, CONDUCTING SEARCHES, CONVOY OPERATIONS AND FORCE PROTECTION. FROM 3/2007 TO 6/2007, I worked in the Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Cell. I advised the Commander of the Multi National Division – Center (MND-C), Iraq on how to best employ THE VARIOUS CIVIL AFFAIRS TEAM-ALPHA (CAT-A) THAT WOULD SUPPORT THE PROVINCIAL RECONSTRUCTION TEAMS (PRT) AND EMBEDDED PROVINCIAL RECONSTRUCTION TEAMS (EPRT) MND-C’S AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (AOR). I DIRECTED THE MATCHING OF THE VARIOUS CAT-As TO THE PRTs AND EPRTs. THIS RESULTED IN MATCHING THE RIGHT TEAM WITH THE RIGHT PRT AND/OR EPRT; THIS INCREASED THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE CAT-A SUPPORT TO THE PRT/EPRT.
What they like about U.S. Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Command (Airborne). :
A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
