Daily Duties at Human Terrain Systems :

I am an Observer / Trainer (OT) located at the HTS Training Center in Fort Leavenworth, KS. I teach, coach, mentor and provide performance oriented feedback to HTS student- candidate Team Leaders (TL) and other student- candidates. Previously, I held the position of Human Terrain Analysis Team – North (HTAT-N) Team Leader located in Tikrit, Iraq. I managed a highly trained professional five-person team that consisted of regional analysts, research managers, and sociologists and was responsible for the liaison and coordination between HTAT-N and the United States Division-North (USD-N) 4th Infantry Division Staff. My duties were to insure that the Division understood the Iraqi cultural and sociological make-up order to better understand the civilians within USD-N’s operational environment (OE). My first position with HTS was as a Human Terrain Team (HTT) Team Leader. I lead HTT IZ09 also located in Tikrit, Iraq. My duties were similar to those when I was the HTAT-N Team Leader. The difference was that I served an Infantry Brigade Combat Team.

What they like about Human Terrain Systems :

You highly value a work environment built on a formal structure, rules, and regulations. You do not enjoy the unpredictability of shifting priorities and deadlines that upset your routine. You require and enjoy direction, input and accountability as part of your work environment. You have a strong need to participate in making key decisions and feel left out if your superiors or co-workers do not seek your input when making decisions. You thrive on providing good customer service to both internal or external customers, and doing so makes you feel good.
