Daily Duties at Selective Insurance Company :
* Managed PIP/MEDPAY catastrophic and simple claims for Personal/ Commercial Lines. * Received assigned claims, verified coverage and determined course of action. * Made initial contact with claimants and insureds by telephone within 24 hours of claim assignment. * Set claim reserves, take claim statements and set-up claim files. * Experienced with ICD-9 and CPT 4 Codes. * Routinely interact with attorneys, physicians, pharmacists and other medical providers to obtain information or approve prior authorization. * Monitored claims for possible nurse case management and worked closely with Precert/Medical Review Staff. * Investigated claims and made referrals to SIU Department or other investigating agencies. * Received cross training in Auto Physical Damage and handled claims on overflow basis as needed. * Issued benefit payments, reimbursed claimant for out of pocket expenses and processed medical bills related to the accident claim. * Scheduled medical examinations, monitor claims for Subrogation and other exposures. * Handle arbitrations and claim disputes.
