Daily Duties at Texaco Refining And Marketing Inc.:
I was the final authority for the approval of all products offered for sale in our Star Mart Convenience Stores and also priced the products. I created monthly tracking for Cost of Goods Sold, Inventory Turnover, Gross Profit dollars, Average product margin, shrink, etc. for each of the 53 Corporate Convenience stores in my Territory (Oregon and Hawaii). This tracking was also broken down into product categories. Based on this tracking I was able to make key decisions base on actual data and inceased our profitability by 20%. I worked with vendors to create optimal product mix, conduct resets of stores based on Neilsen and IRI data, and created monthly promotions. I also helped implement the first Convenience store scanning system, managed that scanning system and the electronic pricebook.
