Daily Duties at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital:

•Coordinate booking all surgical cases to maximize the effectiveness of 4 surgical suites consisting of 54 surgeons •Interact with surgeon offices in finding optimal surgical times to maintain a good working relationship between offices and OR •Interact with Admitting and Pre-Admission Testing departments in notification of any OR cases, changes and confirming of aforementioned with surgical suites •Responsible for reporting trends in surgical block usage to Administration in order to utilize blocks effectively •Maintain updating/changing of blocks to accommodate more active or new surgeons at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital •Produce monthly statistics on individual surgeons •Responsible for educating surgeons' office personnel in surgical scheduling procedures, as well as, the types of medical information needed for surgery •Serve as liaison to surgical offices and PAT nurses for a variety of situations, including missed appointments, and any additional medical information needed •Review medical history of patients with PAT nurses and office staff to determine if any additional testing, etc. is needed •Assist OR Pre-Operative and PACU nurses with entering, retrieving labs, answering phones, bringing / discharging patients into / from OR •Accountable for billing all OR charges, including pricing of implants and all other charges related to surgical cases
