Daily Duties at Owens Corning:

•Provided day-to-day leadership and management for all maintenance activities throughout the 200,000 square foot facility for a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation in a laminated roofing shingle manufacturing plant. •Personally developed and monitored a daily upset condition recording and tracking program to reduce unplanned downtime and slow time. Corrective actions were developed and resources directed to fix the problem now. Net results were reducing total downtime over 4 years by 50%. •Established a maintenance philosophy, which changed the entire emphasis of maintenance, from a reactive to a proactive program. Utilizing state of the art technologies such as infrared camera heat signatures and lubrication oil & vibration analysis to detect any failures long before they become visible or audible. Thus being able to plan the scheduled repair instead of the failure directing our actions. This improved our Operational Equipment Efficiency (OEE) from 80% to 95%. •Provided strategic planning for future growth and expansion projects to ensure meeting all increased production speeds, pack rates, waste and seconds reduction while maintaining all quality standards. •Directed a Reliability Work Process (RWP), recording all pertinent data for repairs, parts, labor, specialized equipment, permits, contractor costs, and time between mean failures. •Developed a program to ensure 100% compliance with all federal, state and local guidelines regarding Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) issues, thus enabling the facility to be awarded the coveted "Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) STAR" status from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). •Instrumental in reducing Maintenance Repair & Operations (MRO) costs by inventorying, labeling, eliminating obsolete parts and utilizing common same-type parts to reduce storeroom inventory while having all critical spares to ensure we are able to run at all times. •Dependable leader, highly energetic, self motivated professional with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to assume responsibility and delegate authority. Creative and flexible in developing and implementing new methods or procedures. Innovative in troubleshooting and problem solving.
