· Achieved superior ratings for nursing services, record keeping, patient and family satisfaction levels, physician contact, medical unit operations support and related needs. · Provided nursing services in Thoracic Surgical and Transplant ICU and Step-Down Units, General Medical Unit, Barnes Home Infusion, and floated to all medical wards as required. · Prepared Patient Teaching documentation for Lung Transplant Patients for use after discharge on medications, exercise requirements and plan of care. · Mentored and trained new hire Registered Nurses, License Practical Nurses, Unit Clerks and Certified Nursing Assistants. · Applied independent emergency measures to counteract adverse developments and notified physician of patient's condition. · Directed patient in good health habits which included safe sex practices. · Gave information to family in treatment of patient and maintenance of healthful environment. · Structured and maintained certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, PICC Line Insertion, Chemotherapy Administration and Blood Products Administration. · Collected samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients. · Inventoried and requisitioned supplies and instruments. · Provided Home Infusion services to patients in private home settings. · Prepared patients for examinations, tests and treatments, explained procedures and obtained the proper consent forms · Assembled and used equipment such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, and oxygen supplies. · Evaluated nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other health-care team members as necessary. · Served as Care Path Manger for Thoracic Surgical Unit.
