Daily Duties at Dekalb County Public Schools:

As webmaster, I was responsible for the technical planning, design, development, testing, and implementation of web site for elementary school. Mapped overall web design and structure. Ensured web site was functional and contained language that was easy to understand for all audiences (parents, students and faculty/staff). Used Content Management System (CMS) to generate and revise clear and comprehensible web pages within the site.Prepared and integrated new web pages and web tools. Updated website daily with dates, announcements and information for parents, faculty and staff. As a trainer, delivered training to educators on how to navigate and use Nettrekker D.I., a web-based curriculum, to plan instruction and activities. As a resident expert in technology and software applications, I facilitated staff development workshops and assisted with technology troubleshooting when necessary. As an educator, I used Camtasia Studio to create several teaching videos for students and to create video tutorials to include audio and visual instructions of how to use several software programs. I prepared detailed descriptions of course instruction for over 700 lessons and activities. Delivered and presented new material that aligned with state and national standards. Collected, analyzed, and recorded data to evaluate student performance. Defined learning goals and learning objectives. Integrated technology into curriculum by using presentation tools, software, websites and webquests. Prepared and submitted a grant proposal that included a budget, timeline and project goals. Collaborated and planned with colleagues. Wrote technology plan, communicated ideas to colleagues and presented it to supervisor. Organized science trips and gathered educational material to improve student comprehension of science concepts and field experiences. Served as Acting Director of Career Day committee to coordinate, organize and plan this high profile, public relations event. Business professionals from throughout Decatur came to present to classes throughout the school building. My role was to complete the invitations, schedule class room presentations, develop correspondence for professional volunteers, organize and deliver communication between school leaders, professionals and volunteers during Career Day.
