Daily Duties at Duke Energy:

Daily I would monitor the water chemistry of the Midwest plant to make sure they were within EPA recommended limits. Along with this I would up date two daily reports. One would graph the pressure change across the air heater to make sure they were not being plugged with ammonium bisulfate. The other would monitor the cost effectiveness of the selective catalytic reducers of the Midwest plants. This was based off of the cost of NOx credits and the cost to remove NOx.

Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.
