Daily Duties at Lambent Technologies:

Responsible for managing the company’s global oil account. Maintained all instrumentation, testing and calibrations used to support this major oil company’s business. Appraised new instrumentation requirements, and recommended the purchase of new instruments. Acted as liaison to outside contract laboratories, maintained records and reported results for testing not performed on site, including c-GMP site-wide water analysis. Performed method specification reviews. Maintained TOC analyzers and their calibrations. Trained staff on methodologies or SOPs. Maintained NIR equipment and supplies. Served as back-up to Quality Control Manager. Developed and delivered training in the analysis of fuel additives and gear oils for toll manufactured product lines to the oil industry. Drafted written procedures and SOPs used to comply with customer and ASTM requirements. Managed two subordinates in this capacity. Created and conducted training on ICP analysis on oil product lines. Developed and launched new ICP methods and wrote procedures that were adopted division-wide and are currently in use. Provided quality control support for non-routine analyses, including: USP Pharmacopoeia monograph extraction and analysis of Sorbitans, lengthy testing of cleaning products, zinc-borate content of powders, and misc. projects. Also routinely analyzed the following excipients: Polysorbate 80, PEGs (E300, E400, & E600) Provided analytical support for customer complaints, accelerating problem resolution to ensure customer satisfaction and minimize litigation risk. Delivered analytical and quality control support to production and warehouse as problems arose, including the identification of unknowns. Initiated, developed and implemented new NIR methods for laboratory and production use. Drove the conversion of over 20 methods to computer versions which reduced production time, with an estimated cost savings in the millions annually. Developed methods for HPLC-IC and trained staff others in the use of, and maintained all HPLC hardware. Developed and/or adapted new wet methods in response to rapidly changing industry trends and product lines. Generated competitive analyses for R&D that bolstered Lambent’s market position. Conducted and managed laboratory safety inspections and monthly meetings
