Daily Duties at Mit Lincoln Labs / Apex Systems:

Lead the design, implementation, verification and testing of a DVB-S2 Modem Transmitter. Demonstrated the working design in the lab to prove the design met all noise and functional specifications. Designed all of the non-3rd-party-IP VHDL including the complex signal mixer, direct digital synthesizer, RRC filter, physical layer framer, baseband processor and glue logic for the FEC and I/O. Designed a PLI- and FLI-based testbench generator in Perl. Designed tests in C and debugged the RTL using ModelSim and Cygwin. Synthesized, floorplanned and timed the design using multiple clock domains up to 290 MHz. Targeted the design to 3 FPGAs: Xilinx Virtex-5 SX95-1, Virtex-5 SX95T-2 and Virtex-5 LX330T-2. Targeted the design to 3 platforms using a variety of communication protocols including Ethernet, Aurora, SRIO, VME and DDR LVDS. Wrote the Ethernet communication software. Demonstrated working hardware in the lab using various measurement equipment and commercial receivers.
