Daily Duties at Harbison Walker:

Develop operating budget and operate within that budget. Review Profit and Loss statements and make adjustments to production activities to stay in line with budget. Set expectations and communicate those to all managers and staff. Develop staff and evaluate progress on regular basis. Lead daily production meeting with managers and support staff to address any immediate production, quality, or safety problems. Prioritize and coordinate all maintenance needs throughout the facility. Review scheduling to ensure orders are produced in a timely manner and available as promised. Maintain a safe work environment for all employees. See that all corporate policies are being communicated to staff and are being followed. Resolve production problems or issues in order to maintain efficient work flow. Provide adequate people and equipment resources for subordinates to reach their goals. Review weekly crewing requirements and adjust to business changes. Propose improvement projects along with justification in areas of productivity, cost reduction, safety, and quality improvement. Set and monitor goals with subordinates to see that they are on track for success. Recommend and initiate personnel actions, such as hiring, training, promotions, transfers, counseling, discipline, and termination. Negotiate labor grievances. Maintain all standard operating procedures and update as necessary to maintain ISO 9000 certification and to provide for continuous improvement of all processes. Meet with customers on a regular basis to promote products.
