Daily Duties at Alltel Inc:

1987-2002 ALLTEL INC Dalton, GA Contracts/Fleet Manager • Focal point for the maintenance operations, fuel card tracking, salvage and transfers of over 1,400 vehicles. • Wrote contracts with vendors and service providers in a tri-state area. • Initiated and coordinated a maintenance and fuel card system for all fleet vehicles. • Coordinated and tracked fleet vehicles for a multi-state area. • Coordinated the salvage and purchase of old and new vehicles in the SE Region. • Developed and implemented a program to track the performance of field technicians. • Trained Area Managers and Supervisors in the use of fuel cards, maintenance programs and the performance tracking and the evaluation of the programs above. • Conducted a program to inform the vendors and service providers of improper insurance coverage or expired insurance. • Focal point for ALL contracts in the SE Region with vendors and service providers and joint-use utilities. • Special projects included the following: 1) Emergency Evacuation Program. 2) In- processing of new vehicles, disposing of salvage vehicles ordering new fuel cards and maintenance books for new vehicles and lost packets. 3) Entered new employees into the fleet program and issued their PIN number for authorization to use the fuel cards. 4) Tracked PIN number usage for fuel cards and kept a database of all of those that lost usage of fuel cards. 5) Distributed new fuel cards and maintenance packets to newly arriving vehicles. 6) Focal point for the approval of repairs on all broken-down fleet vehicles. Construction Manager • Scheduled construction projects for the upgrade of central offices from analog to digital service. • Developed and maintained construction budgets to inform Field Supervisors of progress and possible over-runs of the budget. • Initiated parts inventory and tracking system. • Ordered cable and parts for outside wire line construction projects, and tagged for specific jobs.
