Daily Duties at Genvec:
Support a diversity of challenging monitoring requirements for a very busy clinical trial component in the Clinical Affairs biotech company. Engage in various components with keeping in house clinical files audited, correctly logged and filed. Assist in compiling and distributing to clinical sites regulatory and case report binders for start of study. Generate and disseminate required Regulatory and Clinical documents, including receipt of documentation as well as instructions pertaining to clinical trials. * Selected to provide research assistance and successfully perform a variety of tasks necessary to support company’s Clinical Trial start-up initiatives. * Excel in environments that require the ability to meet multiple deadlines and effectively oversee shifting priorities. The clinical trial I have been a part of completed their patient enrollment and now in the process of obtaining the final patient documentation for office visits as well as lab results. Have participated in a clinical site audit recently and received experience in what is expected at each clinical site as well as the documentation that is audited on each site visit. * Experience with reading and understanding Protocols and the various components within them. * A full understanding of Standard Operating Procedure’s (SOPs) and Good Clinical Practices (GCPs) in clinical trials. While my supervisor was ill and hospitalized I was given the task of overseeing/managing the Clinical Trial for the PEDF study for over two weeks. I did this with little experience and knowledge, and was recognized by our contractor Medical Director who informed GenVec’s Human Resources Department, which in turn I was awarded a small monetary amount for not complaining and just stepping in.
