Daily Duties at Compaq Computer Company, Inc. :
§ Research and development of products and processes with possible application to solving future technological problems. Supported the application of new technologies to current projects providing research information, vendor interface, design, prototyping and physical testing capabilities. Some benefits of this work were the early use of 3D Parametric CAD software for real time Solid Modeling. Also Liquid Cooling systems for electronic components allowed for the use of high heat producing faster Microprocessors. § Design, fabrication and test of state-of-the-art personal computers, specializing in enclosure cooling and acoustic techniques. § Provided sustaining engineering support for the production line. § Design and fabrication of production assembly jigs, fixtures and equipment. § Coordinated and implemented improvements to product quality cost and yield. § Participant in Vendor Quality Team surveys. Vendors who qualified were allowed to ship directly to the Manufacturing line without the normal inspection procedures, saving both time and expense.
