Daily Duties at Vf Imagewear:
- employed full-time (42 hours/week) as Shipping Utility whose primary responsibility was to search warehouse for cases missing from customers freight orders; - cross-trained as backup Freight Sorter Operator; - preset PORTABLE DATA TERMINALS to record required data in proper format and downloaded recorded information to IBM mainframe; - used RADIO DATA TERMINALS (RF scanners) in conjunction with WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM to locate storage and shipping containers, to ?pick? customer freight orders, and to reconcile case counts for both customer freight orders and in-house packing orders; - trained other employees in operation of RF scanners and answered questions about operation; - used Internet to ?pick?, verify, and ship UPS and FedX freight orders; - reprinted torn or missing case labels and shipping tickets; - deleted unscanned shipping cases from customer bill of lading; - accomplished daily cycle counts of problem storage areas; - returned invalid cases to database for further sourcing; - trained and certified in use and operation of MATTHEWS ANSWER SYSTEM; - trained and licensed by company to use hydraulic lift-trucks (?order pickers?), forklifts, and other powered warehouse equipment.
