Daily Duties at Pacific Bell:
Assisted customers placing all types of calls: Collect calls, coin calls, calling card calls, third number billing calls, and emergency interruptions. Assisted customers that had difficulty when dialing, assisted special service customers, as well as difficult, and irate customers, gave customers rate information, area codes, the time of day, and date if needed as well as the time in different parts of the country. Would connect customers with various departments of Pacific Bell, as well as the long distance provider of their choice. Connected customers to emergency agencies when needed. Assisted with general office duties filing, faxing, making photocopies, assisted with training, posted weekly schedules, kept console logs current that contained area codes, rate information, time changes, long distance carrier codes and emergency agency phone numbers. Selected in the position of acting Supervisor to assist both operators and customers with situations that could not be handled at the first point of contact when the Supervisor was not available.
