Daily Duties at Ups Supply Chain Solutiobs:
Dispatched and monitored delivery drivers, dispatched drivers job within the allotted time given upon receiving job from the Call Center, checking weight and dimensions of package or packages then contacting a driver with the appropriate size vehicle, advised drivers of package pick up ready time and pick up location, delivery destination, and delivery deadline, advised drivers of any special instructions for example: contact numbers, if consignee only, any access codes for warehouse or storage drop points, or advising driver to call contact before arrival. Always in communication with both drivers and Call Centers making sure all communication has been properly documented, being proactive contacting drivers within 30 minutes of delivery deadline checking on driver deadline status, advising the appropriate Call Center of no driver contact possible delay, any delays such as traffic, weather, or accidents, canceled or delayed flights making sure our customer has been advised of any actual or possible delays. Entering delivery site actual arrival time and time driver obtained POD signature stressing to the driver the importance of not only getting the signature of the person signing for delivery, but their title or department is also needed.
