Daily Duties at Haverstick Governmant Solutions:
Senior Systems Engineer for the Information Technology Application Center (ITAC) Laboratory Including Project management, Budgeting, Infrastructure support, hardware and software installation, process engineering and implementation, Customer Support, maintenance, and Inventory. Responsible for day to day maintenance of over 200 servers, 50 workstations, and a network infrastructure of over 15 switches, routers and firewalls. Designed and architected lab facility and Datacenter for the government. Responsible for all aspects of the design including network, furniture, power, equipment, security and conference rooms. Expanded the ITAC Lab From inception with 1 part time person to a full time staff of 9 people and over thirty ongoing projects in three years. Installed, configured, integrated, demonstrated and used Storage Area Networks, Network Attached Storage, Virtual Private networks, Voice over IP, Wireless Networking, Global Combat Support Systems integration Framework (GCSS-IF), and many other new technologies. Assisted with the design and Installation of a 150,000 user, command-wide e-mail system for the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC). Redesigned and implemented the network infrastructure at Kirtland AFB to include segmenting the network, Installing and configuring hardware, creating classless sub-nets, restructuring the Network Control Center, Troubleshooting the network, and Designing and implementing a base wide routing protocol and IP address space plan.
