Daily Duties at Bay Cities Pet Hospital:

· Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel and Avimark (A veterinary application) · Basic/Intermediate Bookkeeping skills · Handling money including cash, checks , credit cards and the company safe · Ability to answer customer questions on a broad range of animal care needs without supervision · Ability to refer customers and their pets to the appropriate Veterinary Specialists when required · Ability to run the front office without supervision · Ability to work in high-stress situations with a calm demeanor in order to control the situation · Heavy phone system · Heavy filing system · Assisting customers and Veterinarians as needed · Preparing medications and labeling prescriptions · Ability to read and understand Veterinary Medical terminology, Patient charts and Doctor shorthand · Placing orders by phone and fax · Sending and recieving faxes · Assistance in writing/preparing collection and past due account notices, sympathy notes and reminder cards · Train/Supervise new employees · 10 key adding machine · Ability to type at least 35 wpm · Proficient in animal handling skills including restraint, weighing, taking and developing x-rays, assisting in surgery, performing dental cleanings, bathing and cleaning
