Daily Duties at National Evaluation Systems, Inc.:

Scoring Director/Chief Reader Primarily responsible for planning and supervising large-scale performance assessment scoring sessions for state departments of education, developing scorer training programs, leading scorer training activities, monitoring scorer performance to ensure that scorers remain calibrated to proper standards, and applying quality control measures to the performance assessment scoring process. Managed large-scale test development and performance assessment scoring projects for eight client state departments of education (California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Oklahoma, Texas). Designed scoring rubrics for performance assessments in a variety of media. Consulted with programmers on the design of scoring software. Planned and participated in marker-paper selection conferences. Project Editor/Test Development Specialist Primarily responsible for writing and editing criterion-referenced certification tests in twenty different certification subject areas. Facilitated test item review and standard-setting conferences. Managed development of numerous styles of certification test for teachers of languages other than English. Managed development of certification tests in a wide variety of subject areas, including educational administration, general pedagogy, and business.
