Daily Duties at Le Meridien Hotels :

-- Instrumental in the opening process of the hotel, establishing system and practice -- Directed the entire Front Office department which included front desk, concierge, valet, bell and one touch customer services in the absence of department Director -- Formulated policies and procedures for the entire Front Office department -- Ensured seamless continuance of high service standards and work ethic through shifts -- Operated the entire first floor lobby level of the hotel which is the first and last point of contact with hotel guests -- Provided security and customer services for all VIPs to the hotel -- Operated all departments in the absence of department managers, typically during evenings, including security, housekeeping, accounting, engineering, restaurant, bar, club and room service -- Performed hiring, termination and disciplinary procedures and mediated employee relations in multiple departments (started at a different level within the organisation as listed below) Overnight Front Desk Agent / Concierge and Night Auditor 04/2003 – 06/2003 -- Formulated and implemented night audit procedure and manual -- Assisted guests at check in and check out -- Attended to late night special requests/ questions guests or visitors had -- Managed the cashiering system -- Audited and corrected all transactions carried out by day cashiers, printed out guest receipts and remedied all reservation errors -- Directed the entire front office department overnight, making sure that all deliveries were made, bills were printed and the date on the hotel cashiering and food accounting systems was rolled over to the next business date -- Wrote and delivered reports to senior management on the previous day’s activities, and the current day’s arrivals and major events -- Wrote the nightly incident report -- Operated the switch board and directed all calls to the right departments -- Provided general and specific customer service -- Prepared hand written, scented welcome cards to all arriving VIPs and repeat guests
