Daily Duties at Mel/Pt :

A Quality Assurance Services in Support of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in designated parishes in Louisiana. Inspected a wide variety of standardized items or operations requiring a substantial knowledge of the method and techniques of construction inspection and of construction method, equipment, materials, practices and the ability to interpret varied requirements in drawings and specifications. Obtained information on schedules and work methods and explained requirements of plans and specifications. Made suggestions to the contractor concerning well-established acceptable methods and practices to assist the contractor in meeting standard requirements. Inspected the work performed by debris removal contractors to assure compliance with contract requirements, and OSHA and USACE safety requirements. Promptly reported deficiencies in the performance of work by the debris removal contractor to the MEL/PT Team Leader. Measurd the debris trucks and trailers to determine capacities. Inspected Individual loads to determine load volumes, completing load tickets and tracking the cumulative volume of debris removed and reduced. Supplied a report for each day of inspection.
