Daily Duties at Anchorage Daily News:
· Forecast capital, payroll and expense budget for Advertising Department on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Track capital, expenses, commissions, incentives and salary and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports recording actuals verses budget. · Calculate bi-weekly payroll for Retail Advertising sub-department of 49 employees and coordinate and verify bi-weekly payroll for Classified and Niche Advertising sub-departments of 36 employees. · Manage all purchasing and payables for Retail Advertising and oversee the same for Classified and Niche to insure expenses are kept within budget and tax laws are followed. · Oversee Classified Advertising Administrative Assistant, Niche Publications Administrative Assistant and Retail Advertising Administrative Assistant to insure tasks are completed in a timely, accurate and professional manner. · Organize the personnel functions of the Advertising Department including preparing all confidential hiring, termination and evaluation paperwork and encouraging managers to administer any action or paperwork in a timely manner. · Coordinate staff meetings or special projects and seminars on and off site. · Prepare memos, reports and letters, including confidential assistance for the Advertising Director often utilizing a start-stop transcription machine.
