Daily Duties at Sun Gard Insurance Systems:
Provided technical support for external and internal clients for a software application that utilizes Sybase ASA & MS SQL Server as its RDBMS’s. Also, provided technical support for accessing this application via Citrix and Terminal Services connections. Handled internal IS requests for issues with employees’ workstations. Conducted the nightly backup of the network that consisted of 40+ servers using Veritas BackupExec, an Exabyte Mammoth II tape library, and an Exabyte VXA II tape library. Assisted on network issues and system configurations for the systems in the server room and building. Built several systems including servers, and employees’ workstations. Handled informational updates to the CRM system. Created reports and related queries for the CRM system. Designed MS Access and MS SQL Server databases that were integrated with Active Directory and multiple servers. Modified existing MS Access databases to be more normalized and improved the interfaces. Created Crystal Reports for reporting backup information from Veritas BackupExec, and created Crystal Reports for other MS SQL Server databases. Created an ERM model of the database associated with the company's application using a 3rd party tool. Created automation scripts for use with nightly backups and software updates.
