Daily Duties at Con Way Transportation:

• Investigate and analyze cargo claims for loss, damage and delay to determine the company's liability and measure of (cost) damage or loss to protect the interest of both the company and the customer. • Process claims according to company policies and procedures. This includes maintaining claims inventory of 150 to 250 claims less than 90 days old, handling customer inquiries and complaints and providing claim prevention techniques and tips to the field. • Responsible for processing approximately 80% of all claims within 30 days of receipt, handling customer and field correspondence as it pertains to the claim investigation and other miscellaneous duties as required. • Responsible for utilizing knowledge of Common Lay Liability, the Code of Federal Regulations, Rules and Tariffs Transportation Contracts and Agreements, and the National Motor Freight Classification
