Daily Duties at Boys & Girls Clulbs Of Buffalo:

• Provide HR support and recommendations to directors and employees with the purpose of supporting agency policies, procedures and training initiatives to enhance employee performance and improve retention. • Administer and track agency HR functions at the professional level in the areas of selection, employee relations, training and professional development, continued employment, performance evaluations, exiting employees and unemployment. Maintain confidential nature of all information processed. • Establish and maintain personnel (115) and volunteer (60-65) records. • Prepare and post job vacancy ads to recruit agency staff and interview, volunteers (interns, long – term, one-day projects and work study) through local businesses, colleges, universities and paid sources when necessary. • Conduct new hire background checks (through Verified Person and through fingerprinting) and hiring requirement/qualifications including personal/business references, driver’s license, medical, criminal and NYS Central Register for Child Abuse & Maltreatment and requirements for reporting agencies (NYS, OMRDD, ECDSS, SES, etc.). • Maintain compliance with federal, state, county and agency regulations concerning employment. • Facilitate all new hire paperwork including benefit paperwork and assemble and maintain personnel files (notices of infraction, meeting notes, file summaries and other general information), performance folders (position and pay changes), ECDSS folders (background checks, criminal statements, references, application and resume), medical folder (kept separately in another cabinet) and trainings and certifications folder. • Verify identify and employability for I-9’s (Employment Eligibility Verification forms) which are kept in separate binders; one for current and one for past employees. • Recommend, track and report staff training and professional development in MS Access. • Coordinate Annual All Staff Training Conference and all other trainings and certifications including First Aid, CPR, AED and Medication Administration. • Supervise, train and evaluate Administrative Assistant to CPO and HR. • Recommend updates to agency policy manual and assist in the implementation of same. • Assist in the development & implementation of agency HR procedures. • Serve as contact person for staff, volunteers and walk-ins with all HR related questions and/or concerns. • Generate reports on HR statistics (i.e., Diversity, FT, PT, new hires, terminations, resignations, promotions, turnover, etc.) and generate documentation correspondence to personnel. • Provide administrative support to Program, Development, Operations and Finance departments as needed for special projects.
