Daily Duties at Electronics For Imaging, Inc.:
• Promoted from Lead Software Engineer to manage all aspects of software and product development for EFI’s Java J2SE / SWING based product suite (nine specialized applications for printing industry), including functional specification, maintenance, new feature development, and build customer releases. • Led development of an innovative modernization / replacement of existing client/server configuration toolset. • Managed multiple client-server Java technology projects ranging widely in size and scope. • Recruited, trained, and managed remote team of up to 11 onshore / offshore software engineers across U.S. and India; conducted annual performance and salary reviews. • Worked closely with multiple department heads, product development managers, UI designers, tech writers, hardware managers, and end-users to lead requirements definition; developed project schedules; allocated and managed team; set milestones and tracked progress; and managed rollout, QA, and testing. • Assembled and managed offshore development team in India, fully integrating workflow with US-based efforts; transitioned management and software development to local (India) manager within 12 months. • Developed code on all Java J2SE / SWING / AWT client applications as needed; provided technical solutions and direction on all Java client and server side applications; acting supervisor of up to 30 software engineers.
