Daily Duties at School Committee:
1998-2001 Town of Billerica School Committee Billerica, MA Committee Member • Elected at the eighteen, while in my senior year of high school, in a town wide election, and making local history as the youngest elected official in the town of Billerica. • Worked closely with the Superintendent of schools, other board members, and concerned constituents to address and resolve issues that concerned the school system. • The members of the committee were responsible for the operation and budget of one high school, two middle schools, and six elementary schools. • During my term the committee was involved in the yearly budget process, outside contractor biding process, building of the new Ditson elementary school in Billerica, selection process for a Vice-Superintendent of Education, and MCAS testing and policy making.
