Daily Duties at Raytheon:

: Function as part of the Raytheon Field Engineering (FE) organization and act as the liaison between an assigned regional supply base and Raytheon's Supplier Management Teams. This position reports through Missile Systems Tucson but will be located in the Mid Atlantic States. Develop relationships with suppliers in assigned geographical region to perform supplier quality engagements, proactive assessments, and various qualification and verification audits. Participate in problem resolution of technical issues. Monitor supplier performance to identify trends, analyze for opportunities for continuous improvement and implement supplier improvement actions. Perform pre-work and post award reviews, conduct technical data package audits. Perform hardware acceptance reviews and product and process verifications at suppliers (quality systems, technical capability & manufacturing process). Also, appraise technology advances and align supplier process innovations with Raytheon's technical needs. Identify, characterize and monitor Key Control Characteristics (KCC) in supplier production operations. Monitor closed loop "process behavioral" systems with emphasis on SPC. Statistically analyze process data and identify opportunities to improve process performance. Evaluate potential suppliers in terms of engineering and technology capabilities, material and the procurement systems, quality practices, business structure and financial liquidity, production operations, Cp / Cpk (Process Potential and Capability), manufacturing capacity, manufacturing control (repeatability and reproducibility). Engage with Supplier Development Engineering to facilitate DOE, DFMA, PFMEA, DTC, CAIV, Process Error Proofing, Standardized Work, R&R analysis and Lean engagements. Required Skills: Must have a complete understanding of the workings of a factory from conceptual design to full rate production. Solid knowledge in propulsion and rocket motors. A strong background in production operations with exposure to the spectrum of manufacturing processes, procurement systems, quality control, product design and manufacturing capacity analysis is needed. A working knowledge of process failure and effects analysis (PFMEA), Statistical Process control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) and DoD Quality Control Systems is important. Excellent computer skills are a must. Risk mitigation and problem resolution skills are integral to the job. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment are required. Must have the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Must be able to effectively function from a home office and able to travel full time. Desired Skills: Experience in facilitating DOE, DFMA, PFMEA, DTC, CAIV, Process Error Proofing, Standardized Work, R&R analysis and Lean engagements
