Daily Duties at Samsonite Spa:
Based at the Italian head office, I worked as a Product Manager handling the Italian and Asian Region with responsibilities including market research, creation of new product concepts & strategies as well as subsequent product development & commercialization, forecasting. While collaborating daily with the R&D, Design, Trade Marketing and Planning Departments, this job also required price positioning of the product assortment, presenting new products to the sales force and leading educational programmes for the Samsonite retail store employees. One accomplishment during this experience is concerning the Casual and Outdoor category: It was a new segment for Samsonite and through market research and market visits I was able to analyse the market situation and develop a new strategy which I presented, and was subsequently accepted and successfully implemented. Through a visit and presentation of the entire new collection to Intersport (main outdoor chain) I successfully helped introduce the range in this key customer, enabling fast and wide market penetration.
