Daily Duties at Fvsu Academic Writing Center:

WRITING ASSISTANT • Promoted, within a short period, from Tutor to Writing Assistant due to established rapport with students, increase in students’ grades, professionalism, excellent tutorial skills, and expertise in college English and Spanish • Utilized appropriate teaching strategies in response to various learning styles with the purpose of promoting student achievement, strong content knowledge, and self-confidence • Periodically arranged professor-student conferences to inquire about student progress and/or concern for further tutorial sessions • Advocated for and prevailed on the need to have extended operational hours, more available tutors, and extended assistance in content area beyond the basics • Assisted in the research and grant application process with innovative ideas and grant-writing abilities which tremendously attributed to the success of this grant-funded program
