Daily Duties at Santa Fe Public Schools:
Systems Analyst / Programmer - Provided support to AS/400, PC and Macintosh users throughout the district. Implemented and supported a Windows NT Server, PhoneMaster automated outbound-dial attendance systems, the CIMS Fixed Asset system on an AS/400 and the CIMS Warehouse Management system on an AS/400. Maintained AS/400 twinax LANs, a synchronous WAN and a dial-up asynchronous WAN. Installed, maintained and expanded Ethernet TCP/IP LANs and a WAN. Installed, configured and troubleshot a Cisco 7200 router and Cisco 2500 routers used to connect school networks to the district office and to the Internet. Setup a Cisco Pix firewall to perform IP address translation. Installed and maintained a World Wide Web, Email, calendaring, video conferencing, DNS, and FTP server. Hired and supervised a team of students to update the district’s first web site. Appointed as the computer site representative for Central Office and as a member of the Technology Steering Committee. Researched district needs and recommended new software and hardware. Frequently assumed responsibility for the department in the absence of the Management Information Systems Director. Used Query/400 to create customized reports for administrators and staff members. Used SQL/400 to globally update databases on the AS/400. Setup new user assignments on the AS/400 and updated associated application configuration codes. Monitored spooled output files, active user jobs, subsystems and telecommunication lines. Performed system operation tasks including the printing of reports, queries, checks, and purchase orders. Developed training instructions and documentation on departmental procedures. Trained users on PC and AS/400 applications. Diagnosed and repaired minor hardware problems.
