Information Technology Manager - Supervised a highly technical and skilled team of IT Senior Specialists supporting, developing, and maintaining various types of software and hardware. Assigned tasks and performed annual evaluations of the IT Senior Specialists. While the Specialists shared common duties such as desktop support each had their own areas of expertise. My management style fostered an environment that encouraged the cross-training of those specialties. Team members worked together whenever possible with the Specialist possessing the most knowledge taking the lead. Managed an annual technology budget totaling over $600,000. Developed a Technology Action Plan to implement the latest computer technology for PTLA within a reasonable time frame. Replaced an outdated mail server critical to communication within the company. Launched an aggressive plan to replace many obsolete PCs and laptops. Instituted a Computer Based Training program available to all employees to teach them about various computer applications. Rewrote interview questions and hired several Specialists with skills more in line with current and future IT needs. Acted as the primary Organizational Computer Security Representative which entailed evaluating systems and practices for compliance with all Lab standards and policies. Participated in computer security audits. Served as a member on several committees including the Organization Computer Management Committee which reviewed IT plans and the Finance Software Selection Committee.
