Lead Designer and Programmer; Consultant Developed a wide variety of applications using a combination of Visual Basic and Microsoft Access: • implemented a Visual Basic application that completely specifies how to cold-reduce stainless steel wire from a given starting gauge to a desired output gauge; this tool generates reports which are then used as “routers” on the factory floor • maintained and modified a complex Access-based application that allocates inventory and specifies how to cold-reduce stainless steel “strip” (coils of sheet metal) from a given starting gauge to a desired output gauge; this tool produces routers used on the factory floor • implemented bar-coding on all factory routers to reduce errors and allow employees to automatically enter project status data without typing • implemented Access-based reports to allow sales people to track project status • implemented specialized calculators and tools to assist process designers in creating processes for stainless steel processing, some using sophisticated curve-fitting techniques • implemented an Access-based employee attendance tracking program • implemented a system for maintaining applications on a central server rather than distributing them to client machines, thereby greatly reducing update costs
