Daily Duties at Gateway Rehabilitation Hospital:
Assign a code to each diagnosis and procedure. Consult classification manuals as well as rely on my knowledge of disease processes. Proficient in use of computer software to assign that patient to one of several hundred diagnoses related groups or DRGS.I regularly communicate with physicians or other healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses or to obtain additional information. Oversee/coordinates data collection, including demographics and FIM, and other clinical information. Does so in IRF-PAI format. Assures that data collection is complete and accurate. Provides solutions to problems related to data collection. Ensures that data is submitted to pertinent bodies: CMS, UDS, and Joint Commission. Provides information to pertinent bodies, including but not limited to: Medical Executive Committee, CEO, and Performance Improvement Committee. Educate staff in the data collection process. Target appropriate information to be taught. Reviews documentation for staff educational deficits and corrects as needed. Accepts responsibility for delivery of patient care through the collection of clinical data under the direction of the nursing plan of care. Performs all nursing procedures and treatments consistent with education and license, according to hospital and nursing policy and standards of practice
