Daily Duties at Mainzer Minton:

• Supervise and control all traffic decisions, both domestic and international, for a mid sized textile company. • Set up accounts with all domestic carriers, forwarders, 3PL’s and steamship lines. Responsible for choosing and negotiating rates with carriers that totaled over $2,500,000 freight expense annually. • Authorize all Returns, credits and allowances to customers as well as investigating all unauthorized returns. • Created procedures and controls to track freight from port of origin to their final destination. • File claims with freight carriers OS&D Department to recoup losses incurred in transit. • Supervise, direct and train office staff in our Corporate Office as well as all branch locations including overseas branches. Recruit screen and interview job candidates. Implement new procedures to increase productivity. • Responsible for opening commercial letters of credit, handled discrepancies with our bank and authorized payment. Familiar with all Import documentation, i.e. Certificate of Origin, Commercial Invoice, packing lists, etcetera to clear goods through customs. • Issue charge back to vendors for pricing errors, damaged goods and other merchandise problems. • Responsible for verifying and approving all Freight Bills, Custom Broker Invoices, Forwarders Invoices and Independent Warehouse Invoices. • Manage the handling, storage, receiving, packing and shipments of finished goods and raw materials. • Perform periodic inventory reconciliations that were presented to and audited by an independent Accounting Firm. • Supervise, direct and train office staff in our Corporate Office as well as all branch locations including overseas branches. Recruit screen and interview job candidates. Implement new procedures to increase productivity. • Negotiate all business insurance from Commercial General Liability to Medical Insurance. Responsible for approving all medical bills and benefit packages. Enroll all new employees in the companies benefit programs. • Coordinate the purchase of new office equipment. Negotiated and contracted for critical office services such as Telephone, Internet, and Security. • Responsible for approving and verifying all overhead expenses.
