Daily Duties at Enterprise Rent A Car:

• Completed several projects in collaboration with Engineering to implement changes to Distribution switches (12 Cisco 6500s), routing modules, and hub routers (8 Cisco 7200s), including standard and extended access-lists, EIGRP routing and OSPF summarizations, VLANs, BGP configuration, and IP address changes. • Monitored and maintained Enterprise’s Campus, Local, Metro, and Wide Area Networks (LAN/MAN/WAN) including a Frame Relay network of over 400 U.S. and European remote sites (using Cisco 2610s) and Hughes VSAT/ Hub Satellite network of over 4000 U.S. and European sites that connect to 26 AS/400 systems. Utilized Tivoli Netview, Tivoli Enterprise Console, Virtual Operator Console (VOC) and WhatsUpGold applications. Placed service calls with appropriate vendor when circuit or hardware needed repair. • Helped create, implement, and streamline Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMI) for the LAN, MAN, and WAN, testing Hot Standby Routing Protocol (HSRP), fail-over, redundancy, and restoration of critical hardware components during provided maintenance window. • Monitored Internet routers and DS3 for Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), HSRP, FastEthernet, and serial connections. Troubleshot any loss of connection and escalated to Network Administration (NA) when necessary. • Created documentation and procedures of third-shift Network Operations tasks. • Provided escalation support to non-senior NOC technicians and TSC personnel especially in the area of AS/400 networking, device operation, subsystems, device descriptions, and connection to other AS/400 systems.
