Daily Duties at Defense Acquisition University:

Leads and supervises five-person Joint-Military Human Resources Division within the Defense Acquisition University responsible for all aspects of the Military Human Resources operation on a daily basis; interacting with assigned HR Specialists and Military Liaisons for all branches of the Armed forces. Assists and consults with the HR Director in defining, organizing, and assigning daily and long term operational requirements to ensure organizational goals are met. Manages and distributes accordingly the workload to the Human Resources Liaisons to ensure timely and accurate completion of all assigned tasks. Authored directives to provide guidance on replacements, leave policy, awards and decorations, and security management. Responsible for human resource actions pertaining to faculty and staff personnel. Advises and coordinates with Directors as well as Senior leadership to resolve personnel and procedural issues. Provides assistance in the interpretation and application of personnel management policies and procedures. As the equal opportunity representative, I process complaints, assist in fact findings, conduct prevention of sexual harassment training, assist with climate assessments and conduct mandated equal opportunity training. Provides full range of classification services for assigned personnel. Provides input to Services for short and long range analysis of personnel requirements and resources ensure integrated support. Single point of contact for all actions concerning personnel security. Manages and processes security clearances on all military and DOD Civilians through the joint personnel adjudication system (JPAS) and all Central Adjudication Facilities. Manages and updates manpower and personnel changes. Manages the Contractor Verification System for the university common access cards. Served as principal military assistant to university president. Prepared and processed organization actions for high level DOD officials, managed schedule changes and updates on president's calendar. Advised and coordinated with president to resolve organizational, personnel and procedural issues. Serve as principal Personnel Supervisor and Security Manager, responsible for personnel administration, technical support, training and accountability. Responsible for verification of security clearances. Served as representative for university equal opportunity, manpower and personnel related issues. As Security Manager worked directly with the Defense Training and Security Division, developed and implemented policy directives for personnel security. Managed employee (civilian, military, and contractor) document security classification, and security programs. Planned, coordinated, and performed duties and actions to interpret and implement DOD and service specific guidance. Granted interim access as needed and determined organizational security needs. Review and approved the initiation of all Personnel Security Investigations.
