Daily Duties at Care First Blue Cross And Blue Shield:

Operations Supervisor – Federal Employee Program Claims and Service Supervisor with responsibilities for provider service, training, quality improvement, coordination of benefits, financial and legal recoveries (worker’s comp & personal injury) and record retention: • Responsible for day to day management of claims processing and provider and member service teams • Responsible for the training and quality improvement teams. While I managed the team we did a complete rewrite of the training manuals, User Guides and quality program. • Led project team responsible of moving provider service unit from centralized team to a decentralized team. This included leading a cross-functional team identifying issues, working with management, identifying the system requirements (IT and voice). This project included developing a budget for the project, as well as, a cost benefits analysis for an ongoing consolidated team. This also included justifying the benefits of the project. • Reduced records retention backlog over 50% by developing a cost benefit analysis that supported hiring an additional person. • Increased department quality from 86% to 92% by increasing audits, implementing a quality newsletter and developing tracking and feedback tools for associates. • Increased financial recoveries by almost 100% in two years totaling more than $900,000.
