Daily Duties at Calpine Corp:
Perform daily Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) administration and operation for UNIX and MS Windows system environments. Job duties include expanding and allocating additional storage to currently attached hosts. Perform daily monitoring of storage systems using Navisphere and Celerra manager software. Support customers by troubleshooting and resolving storage device related problems. Sun 6920 Storage Array Support and Administration. Interface with Multiple Storage vendors to escalated issues. Evaluate new Storage platforms and test any possible environment changes. Manage software and hardware firmware levels and perform upgrades when necessary. Coordinate and perform change control processes to implement disk storage and backup related hardware and software changes as necessary. Provide technical support for the Backup Team , task include day to day operations. Tape restores, Snapshot restores, hardware and software troubleshooting. Offsite tape recalls and storage. Assist Unix team when required. On call duties when necessary
