Daily Duties at Youth Advocate Program International:

Executive Director - Led organization development and expansion. Designed and implemented research, education and advocacy campaigns on children in forced labor, armed conflict and commercial sexual exploitation; and, stateless, HIV/AIDS and refugee children, through 12 staff and interns. Principal spokesperson. Granted UNICEF consultative status in 2004. YAP International is a transnational non-profit child rights and protection think tank and the global arm of National Youth Advocate Program: child welfare services in 7 states with a $56M budget. - Doubled the number of projects and campaigns through strategic planning, leveraging, technological initiatives and staff expansion - Created 7 education curriculum modules now used by educators and advocates in 15 states and 6 countries; over 15,000 downloads - Increased resource papers (from 8 to 17) and developed new advocacy tools and media kits for each of the 9 campaign areas - Designed the award-winning website (increased web traffic by 1200%) and developed the new 4,000+ subscriber newsletter - Achieved a budget surplus every year; reduced costs 27%, created a reserve fund; and tripled in-kind goods and services
