Daily Duties at Florida Department Of Elder Affairs:
Administer and manage the SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) training program Provide basic and intensive training to SHINE volunteers on Medicare, Medicare Supplemental Insurance, managed care, prescription drug coverage, Medicaid, long-term care planning and options, counseling skills, counselor responsibilities including HIPAA compliance, cultural awareness and presentation skills Develop overall training strategy to fulfill grant commitments Design all trainings and training updates as needed Develop and contribute updates for all SHINE/Sunshine for Seniors training Schedule and coordinate SHINE training classes; advises SHINE staff and leadership on training issues Supervise seven Volunteer Trainers throughout Florida on training business, including content, quality assurance and participant feedback. Direct daily work of the SHINE Trainer in support of CMS grant implementation Provide counseling and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries, their caregivers and other interested parties Write articles for the Elder Update, the Departments bi-monthly periodical distributed throughout Florida Conduct outreach presentations to a variety of audiences statewide Act as Program Director as needed.
