Daily Duties at Delta Launch Program, Los Angeles Afb:
Technical leader for the $1.4B Air Force Delta II launch program, the DoD primary rocket for the deployment of highest priority GPS navigation and classified payloads. Directed a team of 7 officers, 25 engineers, and over 200 contractors to status, identify, and solve all technical launch constraints. Led 60-member program team through $246M launch contract extension, secured next 3 yrs of US satellite launches. Successfully balanced mission risk reduction areas with program cost control. As the technical chief and advisor to the Commander, provides launch “Go/No-Go” decisions based on calculated mission success criteria and acted as the final readiness milestone for flight. Briefed base Commander (3-star General officer) and aerospace management with technical concurrence for the launch of all Delta II rockets during flight readiness reviews.
