Researched and solved billing and coding problems for ninety-six physician groups on the east coast. Conducted internal audits on the billing system for improvements. Educated the internal departments of changes in the third party billing and updates to insurance carrier policies. Trained the billing department to be pro-active on the accounts receivable follow-up by calling insurance companies thirty to sixty days after the submission date and resolving denials. Supervised the Research Department that consisted of eighteen employees. Managed a hospital-based multi-specialty physician group (Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, Emergency Medicine, OB/GYN, Pulmonary, Physiatry, Clinical and Anatomical Pathology, Clinical Psychology, Radiology, Anesthesia/CRNA, Nuclear Medicine) by assisting with any practice-related issues and improving the profitability of the practices. Monitoring the quality of the coding and the accounts receivable and analyzing all the extraneous issues that impacted the monthly performance and to remove obstacles that occurred. Performed seminars on CPT, ICD-9 and HCPCS coding, Basic Anatomy and Physiology and Third Party Billing.
