Led effective manufacturing team of 140 union employees in a $28MM operation supplying elastomers to the office products and automotive industries, operating 24 hours, 5 days a week. Devised a re-engineering plan that insured employee training and involvement in helping to search for solutions to the manufacturing challenges the company faced. Renewed employee enthusiasm and refocused employee attention on fulfilling customer needs. Improved product on-time delivery rates from 86.8 to 94.8% and reduced inventory levels from 6.5 weeks to 5 weeks by introducing "pull" scheduling and other "lean manufacturing" techniques.
