Daily Duties at Ameristar:
Part of the human resources department, along with recruiting, processing, and employee relations functions, I redesigned and implemented updated safety training programs, and enhanced marine safety of the worlds first four diamond four star river boat. I developed a successful partnership with the United States Coast Guard and Iowa Gaming Control. I became an instructor at the community college on risk management as part of the casino management certification program. I provided successful negotiation of a number of complex claims, which resulted in a major cost savings for the company of two million dollars. Being a team player I became a member of the Manager on Duty program (MOD), which allowed me to obtain the skill sets of the casino gaming side of the business.
