Daily Duties at Fema:

· Network Administrator for the Geographic Information Systems Department. · Interviewed and recommended Disaster Assistance Employees for field missions. · Installed Ethernet backbone and the G3 Phone system for Regional Office. · Migrated an Apple platform to a Novell platform for the GIS department. · Traveled to support Natural Disasters in the eight-state southeastern Region. · Designed GIS Cartography maps from FEMA's relational SQL databases with terra and census data. · Developed courses for disaster teams in MS Access, MapInfo, Customer Service, and Hazard Mitigation. · Participated in the disaster recovery plan for the Olympic games in Atlanta in 1996. Accounts Receivable Specialist · Managed budgets and funding requests for vendors of federal disasters. · Designed and maintained a financial tracking system for 50 open disasters with 450 open accounts. · Researched problematic vendor contracts and recommended solutions for renegotiation or closure. · Re-negotiated 309 old accounts covering a 10-year period returning $1.8M to the United States Treasury. · Designed database programs in Access, Excel and dBase IV for financial and demographic projects.
