Daily Duties at Miami Dade College:

Network and Telecommunications Specialist, May 2002 - Present Responsible for supervising customer service, assignment distribution via Parature web-based application, and technical support provided to College telephone and computer users using ProComm Plus (software), HiCom/HiPath (web-based), and Avaya (VoIP) applications. Most recent assignments include: · Streamlining reporting processes, assignment distribution and tracking by creating an “automatic response” system · Coordination of the telephone installations for the Wolfson Campus's Emerging Technology Center of the Americas (ETCOTA) and the Homestead Campus's Aviation Training Center, including trouble-shooting · Coordination of guidelines for transition of ticket tracking from database to web-based application Office Specialist, October 1999 - May 2002 Responsible for providing administrative assistance at the Office of the College President, as needed, for a variety of assignments, conducting Internet research and coordinating internal and external communication. Most recent assignments include: · Assisting with creation, and distribution, of bi-monthly newsletter from the College President · Creating and maintaining distribution lists for other College publications · Maintaining documentation and telephone support for the College’s advertisement campaign International Visitor Program Coordinator, May 2000 - May 2002 Working in tandem with the Miami Council for International Visitors, responsibilities include preparation of agendas for participants (average 100 per year) in the International Visitor Program of the U.S. Department of State, and reporting of programs produced throughout the year. Highlights include: · January 2001 program for a Chilean delegation focusing on the construction in Miami of the NAP of the Americas, the fifth Tier-1 Network Access Point in North America · May 2001 program for the East-West Center's Jefferson Fellowship Scholars, a group of journalists representing several countries in Asia, and Australia, focusing on the 2000 U.S. Presidential elections · August 2001 program for a group of Roma journalists from the Czech Republic, including the first Roma news anchor in history. This program focused on multi-cultural communities, and minority-dominated media · February 2002 program for the personal physician to the Premier of China, focusing on geriatric and long-term health care
